10 Lessons I Learned from Cooking
When I was a young spry bachelor, one of the things that I wanted to master was the art of cooking. I’ve made a lot of dishes in my youth- from cheesecakes, to shrimp fettuccini, even breakfast sandwiches weren’t exempt from my culinary clutches. Now, as a father and a husband, I make most of the meals for my family, and it really is a joy and a love... (click here for full blog)

S.W.A.G. (Substance Without Actually Getting it)
The word “swag” has been the acronym for a surprisingly large amount of phrases. Here are a few: Scientific Wild Ass Guess, Sealed with A Gift (Hence the term “swag bags),Secretly We Are Gay, Silver, Wine, Art & Gold, Sold Without A Guarantee, Souvenirs, Wearables, Accessories, & Gifts, and a slew of other acronyms. Presently, “swag” is often identified as swagger, which is defined as... (click here for full blog)

Haters Gonna' Hate
Jealousy, in my opinion, is the feeling of unattainability (reread that). I have never been jealous of anyone, or anything, for the definition above. Are there things that I would like? Sure! But all things are attainable, but it’s really the willingness of the individual to attain it. For example, if there is a person who wants a Ferrari, or some other really expensive vehicle, but has limited finances, does that mean that they can’t get one? NO! It just means they may have to resort to doing things such as: getting MULTIPLE jobs, limiting their bills severely (eating only bread & water for a looooong time), or stealing one if necessary. The unfortunate thing about jealousy is summed up in one of my favorite quotes... (click here for full blog)

Breakdowns (And how they can lead to BreakTHROUGHS)
Recently, my check engine light came on. My wife and I were on our way to the airport to start our vacation when it happened. My car would jerk and hesitate, and even refused to start at times, which needless to say, was very frustrating. It was frustrating, but I still put it off- I went out with my friends, even when I realized that my warranty covered it, I STILL didn’t act with the urgency and respect that my main mode of transportation required. It was only when my car cut off at a red light that I got it repaired. Now, I am fortunate to say that my car is back to its optimum level, as well as my confidence to speed take a casual drive through the city. While my car was the center of a breakdown, I offer you a reflection of breakdowns, and how they can lead to breakTHROUGHS... (click here for full blog)

They Lovin’ the Crew: Your Support System
Most people did not want the Miami Heat to win…I mean some people really disliked the Heat (I wrote about who fans should really be mad with). I was on Facebook, and one of my friends said “Juwan Howard just won a ring, REALLY??” I thought, “he deserves it too.” If you look at his stats, they weren’t All-Star material, only averaging over 1 point, and 1 rebound a game, but he deserves it. Sure, LeBron James went to WORK, and Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh did their parts, but If you look at the playoffs, and what the role players have done, from Norris Cole and his high-top fade, Mario Chalmers getting yelled at every 24 seconds, to Mike Miller going crazy with hitting 3’s, they all can say that they deserved to touch that championship trophy... (click here for full blog)

F.E.A.R. (False Evidence Appearing Real)
Yesterday, a leadership group that I am a part of set out to tackle a team building compound, that made us work together as a team, think outside the box, and be able to use our leadership skills to achieve our goals. One of the events was a ropes course, which was suspended HIIIIIIIGH in the air in the middle of a forest! It looked impressive and intimidating at the same damn time (bonus points if you said the previous 5 words in your best “Future” voice). While I was ready for the challenge, I had a problem; I AM AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!... (click here for full blog)

Nipping the Nuptials: Prenups & Love
To clarify, a prenuptial agreement, or prenup is “a contract entered into prior to marriage, civil union or any other agreement prior to the main agreement by the people intending to marry or contract with each other. The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for division of property and spousal support in the event of divorce or breakup of marriage. They may also include terms for the forfeiture of assets as a result of divorce on the grounds of adultery; further conditions of guardianship may be included as well.” (Thanks Wiki!)... (click here for the full blog)
